If you need to run hands-free, you may want to try a Hip-Lead. The lightweight Frog connector allows you to fluidly engage and disengage your K-9 while under tension, during bouts of excitement, and is rated to an incredible 5620 lbs. It attaches to your duty belt and secures with a mini-cobra buckle allowing you to be able to easily and quickly install or uninstall the Hip-Lead. Great if you need to move it to another belt, or if you don’t need it at the moment. The Mini-Cobra is rated to 800 lbs so you can be assured it’s not going to come apart once installed.

Additionally, the standard configuration allows you to adjust the length (up to 5 inches) depending on your height and the hight of your dog, as well as your setup preferences. (Extra adjustment available if required.) This lead is designed to run your dog in a close heel, or to be connected to a tab, or short lead to add additional length. The swivel is marine-grade 316 stainless steel in Low-Vis Matte finish. The strap is a rugged abrasion resist Mil-spec webbing available in Black, OD Green, Gray, or Coyote colors.
